Who are the
CCDA?
The CCDA is a global body, not constrained by political or territorial boundaries, setting the standards for four wheel drive motor sport events, with equitable representation from competitors, marshals & officials and event managers as well as regional groups. The CCDA aims to develop and promote the sport of four wheel drive competitions from navigation events through to winch challenges and the like.
Our Goals and Objectives are to:
- Represent the view of the competitors with regard to legislation and event rules.
- Regulate the sport to ensure fairness within classes and safety at events.
- Promote and encourage more events through providing affordable insurance.
- Assist new people into the sport with entry level events and development programmes.
- Provide assistance in getting International teams to attend Australian events as well as helping our members attend overseas events.
Thee CCDA has prepared detailed Sporting Regulations (event rules) and Vehicle Specifications that outline vehicle modifications acceptable to classes. Members are kept up to date and have input to developments. A calendar is maintained detailing upcoming events and meetings throughout Australia. Funds are generated through membership fees and CCDA hosted events such as the Vic Winch Challenge. These funds are used to pay high insurance premiums and campaign for the approval of specific vehicle modifications on public roads and in events. No other body or authority cares for our specific interests and so it is vitally important that we have funds, as well as having the backing of thousands of people throughout Australia. The committee is made up of volunteers all passionate about the direction and momentum of the sport. What we now need is your support and the support of your four wheel driving friends. There are many direct benefits you will receive by being a member. Membership of CCDA will entitle you to :
- Discounts at various 4WD stores on tyres, suspension and accessories (check our growing list of sponsors).
- A regular newsletter with updates on rules, event news and event calendar.
- How and where to enter or spectate at events.
- Member discounts on the country’s greatest choice of videos and DVD’s of local and overseas
- events.
- Participation in CCDA sanctioned events.
- Access to the members only section of our web site.
Membership costs just $44 including GST per person and lasts up to 31st Dec of each year. This includes personal accident insurance cover for members whilst engaged in, and whilst travelling to or from, any CCDA activity or event. We ask that every spectator, competitor and event marshal consider becoming a member. We also hope that anyone else interested in the future of four wheel drive competitions joins up and offers their support. You can join by sending in the membership application form today. Remember, the more members we have the louder our voice, and the greater this exciting sport becomes. Paul Lancaster President – CCDA |
